The Ørmens

Per-Johan's web techniqueThis page and the other pages were originally written under inspiration af the book "Lav din egen Hjemmeside" (Translated title: "Make your own Homepage" by Henning Randmose. The book was available as freeware on the net, but is no longer available. The book is similar to other books describing how to make web-pages in HTML. Since then much inspiration has been obtained from
In the beginning notepad was used as editor. This was because I for a starting position found that HTML is so simple that you do not need expensive and complicated tools to write HTML. During the construction of the homepage I had to revise my position: It is cumbersome to write all HTML tags from scratch by hand. I started to use Stone's webwriter, a very fine Danish developed tool witch is freeware for private users. The vacation 1999 page is made using Microsoft FrontPage 2000, as training to use this tool during woring hours. The great new fetaure in FP2000 is that FP respects the existing formatting of the HTML, where previous version has reformatted the HTML, if used on an existing page. For upload WS_FTP light from ipswitch has been used. The "Light" version was freeware for private users, but now you have to buy a home edition. HTML standard: HTML should not be owned by neither Microsoft nor Netscape. I have tried to adhere to the the standard set by W3C - The World Wide Web Consortium. In june 2003 the pages were changed from HTML to ASP pages in order to improve functionality of the site. At the same time the color codes and as much formatting as possible has been moved to a style sheet My computer is a Windows XP home edition based computer. Using XP home edition you can not use Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS). In stead Abyss webserver fra Aprelium and SeliSoft ActiveHTML ASP support is being used for testing environment. The site is hosted by Wannafind at a very reasonable price. Both the mail and webservice is very good and stable. gb_teknik.asp was updated march 28th 2005 |
